ColourPop Makeup Review!

image

After months of hearing beauty vloggers mention various ColourPop products, I finally placed my first two orders in June! Their products are known to be high quality and are suuuuper affordable! Everything I bought was either $5 or $6! Here you’ll see the products I chose, swatches, and makeup looks done with these items! I am still new to ColourPop, so I would love for you to comment and let me know what other products I need to try from them! Thanks babes! xo

First, let’s start with the eye products. Below are swatches of the Super Shock Eyeshadows (the purple color is called ‘Fantasy’ and the gold is ‘Get Lucky’) both on my fingertips and on the wrist. These shadows are soooooo creamy and soft to touch! They are highly pigmented and look even better when applied over shadow primer.

Here are is the ‘Get Lucky’ used in a look, along with the Weho Gloss I’ll mention later!

Below are swatches of the other products, listed from top to bottom: Frida Lippie Stix, Weho Ultra Glossy Lip, Man Eater Ultra Metallic Lip, Easy Peasy Sculpting Stix, Swerve Creme Gel Liner, Bangin’ Brunette Brow Pencil.

The Lippie Stix are highly buzzed about and now I get what all the hype is! The formula is extremely soft and long-lasting. My lips tend to be super dry and this formula is pretty comfortable on them for hours. Below are photos when I wore the Lippie Stix shade Frida.

The Weho Mini Gloss was given in ColourPop’s July 4th weekend promotion, but the full size glosses just launched today! Below is a photo of me the shade Weho!

What actually prompted me to make my first ColourPop order was the fact that they were releasing Metallic Glosses! I have been really wanting to try the Kylie Cosmetics ‘Heir’ metallic lip, but I have heard very mixed reviews about her lip kits and was hesitant to give them a try at their higher price point. When I heard ColourPop was coming out with metallic lips, I knew they would be priced very low and also probably very high quality. This was definitely true! I ordered the lightest shade of the 4 they first launched, called Man Eater. It is such a fun color to wear for an event like a night out or a concert or party. Not exactly an everyday color, but fun for special occasions! Below you can see a look I did.

The Sculpting Stix I have not heard too much about, but upon seeing them on the website I decided to check it out since I’ve been on the hunt for a cream contour. I still want to work with it more, but I think this will become a regular in my routine when I want to contour. I draw it directly on my skin and then blend with a Real Techniques brush as shown below.

Now let’s talk about the Creme Gel eyeliner. This item was one I heard raves about from Kathleen Lights (a famous YouTuber I follow) so I was excited to try. My go-to eyeliner right now is the It Cosmetics Waterproof Gel Eyeliner which costs $22, so I was psyched that I may be able to find a $6 option that works just as well, if not better! Sadly, I do not think this is it! I use liner on my waterlines (top and bottom) and this one does have just as good color payoff initially. However, it does not last but a few hours. I think I will stick with my It Cosmetics one that lasts all day and somehow never runs, but instead just gracefully disappears. So, this is the one item of the haul that I would not particularly recommend.

Now, let’s switch gears to possibly my favorite item of the haul! I am obsessed with this ColourPop Brow Pencil! This is my new favorite! Usually, I prefer actual pencils to the twist-up self-sharpening kind because the pencils usually give a more precise line for drawing on brow hairs. However, I don’t like having to keep a sharpener with me, so I’ve been looking for a self-sharpening brow product that would still draw a fine line and THIS IS IT, ladies! The brows done below with this pencil seriously took less than a minute!

And there you have it, all of my reviews so far of the ColourPop products I’ve tried! I am very impressed with this brand so far and look forward to trying out more of their products in the future! Please leave a comment on this post if there are any in particular that you think I need to try! Thanks so much babes! xoxo

P.S. ColourPop offers $5 off your first order (or just keep giving new email addresses) and often does sales/promotions for holidays. I recently got a free mini lip gloss with their July 4th weekend promotion!
