Both of these items retail for $46. This is a prestige brand, hence the price point, but I will say that both the product and packaging are very high quality. Overall, I love both products, just wish the price was a little lower! Usually I would spend up to $30-40 on high-end foundation, so this one is a bit overpriced for me, especially since the stick only contains 0.25oz of product. If you do decide to try this out, you can save a little bit of money with these tricks! Update: Ipsy has added this foundation stick as a reward option for cashing in points! So, if you are a member of Ipsy, login and start reviewing past glam bag products if you have not already! You need 1,000 points to get this stick free (equal to about 66 product reviews). You can also earn points by following them on various social media platforms, etc. Go to your Ipsy homepage and click “Points” at the top.
Here are my thoughts on the specifics of the products:
Vanish Foundation Stick:

  • Coverage/Finish: The photo above (left) shows my face with no makeup. On the right, you can see it with the Hourglass foundation applied (no filter, just good sunlight of course!) I wound up the foundation stick, “painted” it onto my face by making small strokes throughout my face (a few on each cheek, chin, forehead, nose, and neck), then buffing in with the matching brush. This is a full-coverage foundation that is not heavy or cakey feeling. When I wear this I feel like I am barely wearing any face makeup, however you can see it has enough coverage to cover my sunspots and freckles. The finish of the foundation stick is pretty middle of the spectrum – which is what I prefer! It is not considered matte, but not particularly glowy either. I guess I would say it is more matte than glowy so it is a bit further towards the matte end of the spectrum. That means that if you have oily skin this should work fine for you I would say! Try it on at Sephora and see how it wears throughout the day for you! If you have very dry skin, you can wear this (make sure you moisturize first!) and add some liquid illuminator on top to get that glow you may be seeking.
  • Staying Power: This foundation lasts for most of the day without needing reapplication. Be sure to use a primer under your foundation and a setting spray after doing your makeup to ensure your makeup lasts as long as possible! Below is another photo taken of me wearing this foundation.

Vanish Foundation Brush:
I absolutely love this brush! The shape and bristle length are exactly what I prefer for buffing in a foundation. The packaging of this brush is very sleek and high quality; I can tell it will last for years! What I would’ve enjoyed even more is if the brush had a cap similar to the foundation stick cap that way I could throw both of them into a travel makeup bag and not worry about the bristles getting damaged! Overall, I think this brush is just fabulous. However, I’m not going to tell you it is worth $46. I would probably not pay much more than $20 for this, seeing as there are plenty of high quality affordable brush brands out there that I loveeee (post on this topic coming soon!)
