Hey loves! Today I wanted to review for you a bunch of products from one of my favorite skincare brands, Skyn Iceland. The nice folks at their PR department sent me the above products to try out, plus I’ll give you my thoughts on others I’ve already used up and loved! Skyn Iceland makes high-quality natural, paraben-free products that you can buy on their website (free shipping over $35, plus promo 15% off code when you sign up for emails) or at Ulta!
Under-Eye Illuminator: This is essentially an eye cream that you squeeze out of this metal curved tip and apply directly onto your undereye area. The metal is cool feeling which is supposed to help de-puff tired eyes, plus it contains illuminating particles to help brighten up dark circles. I love the packaging and the formula, however I have one major gripe here and that is how this dries onto the skin. If I use this in the morning as part of my skincare routine, when I go to apply my makeup afterwards there is a dry film left under my eyes that makes my makeup look dry and crumbly. You can play with applying different amounts or perhaps it is best for makeup-free days, but I wasn’t crazy about this.
Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels: Now these, I can get behind! Instead of the under-eye illuminator I would recommend these eye gels 1,000 times over! As you can see in the photo below, these are peel-off eye gels that you apply under your eyes for as long as you’d like really. They feel cooling and make my tired face feel more refreshed. I definitely recommend these for mornings when you didn’t get enough sleep or are feeling a bit under the weather. Five stars here!
Glacial Cleansing Cloths for Eyes: I had already tried the Glacial Cleansing Cloths (reviewed underneath these) and figured these would be similar. These wipes can remove your makeup at night and are great for travel or keeping in your nightstand for those lazy nights when you can’t bring yourself to do your full skincare routine. Very cooling and refreshing feeling!
Glacial Cleansing Cloths: These wipes are great for removing makeup and refreshing skin after a long day, a workout, or a big night out. I personally keep my pack in my car for wiping off my face after running in the park! They work into a little bit of a lather so you know you are getting all of the makeup and grime off 🙂 Definitely recommend!
Plumping Lip Gels: These are supposed to plump and hydrate your lips. I can’t say they really did all that much for me to justify buying them again in the future, however they are a pretty cool little item to try out! I have perpetually chapped lips so maybe if yours are not as “helpless” they might be more effective. Below you can see me wearing one if you look closely around my lips!
Arctic Hydrating Balm: This is a great moisturizer, however something about the scent of it is strange to me. I wouldn’t call it “bad” but it is just different. I prefer moisturizers that smell more appealing, however this is very helpful if you have super dry skin!
Blemish Dots with Salicylic Acid: I have been using these blemish dots for a while and love them! Whenever I get an acne spot, I can put one of these on it overnight (or you can really even wear it during the day since its transparent!) to treat the spot with salicylic acid. To me, these are more effective and easy to work with than worrying about applying a pimple cream, then making sure it doesn’t rub off on your pillow, sheets, etc. Definitely try these!
Pure Cloud Cream: I love this moisturizer way more than the Arctic balm! It smells nice and feels so luxurious. The texture is very airy and mousse-like so it is really unique and exciting! I will definitely repurchase this one 🙂
Hope you enjoyed this review. Leave me a comment if you have a favorite Skyn Iceland product I need to try! xo, Nicole
