Facial Oils Review

Hey loves! Today’s post is all about Facial Oils! In the last few years, these have become more popular and I was a little hesitant at first, but I’ve totally hopped on the trend in the past year or two! If you have oily or combination skin, you may also be hesitant as to how adding more oil to your skin could ever possibly benefit you. But you just have to trust me when I say, I’ve read tons of research and reviews about using oils on oily skin and they all support it. It can actually help make you less oily too! Oily skin types are actually usually deprived of the correct amount of moisture and hydration, so the skin compensates by producing excess oil. If you incorporate oils into your skincare routine, your skin will begin to realize it does not need to keep overproducing its own oils. Ultimately, your skin will become less oily!

Now there are tons of cleansing oils on the market for washing your face and removing makeup, however today I’m only going to be talking about facial oils which you’d use like you would a serum or moisturizer. After washing your face, you can pat these into your skin (anywhere on your body even!) to increase hydration and glow. Here’s which I’ve tried:

Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil

Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil • $72 – I got a travel size of this in the Drunk Elephant Nightbright kit I bought during the holidays in order to try out some of their products. It is a very nice facial oil and feels so smooth and nourishing on the skin. This one doesn’t really have a smell which isn’t necessarily a bad thing!

Guerlain Abeille Royale Face Treatment Oil

Guerlain Abeille Royale Face Treatment Oil • $98 – I received a sample packet of this and fell in love instantly! I know it is super pricey, but this stuff is so luxurious! It smells nice too and has such a luxe feel. And I can tell you this is not a placebo effect because I felt this way before I even realized how expensive this product was! I haven’t splurged to buy this yet, but one day I just might have to for a special occasion 😉

tarte

I have been using the Tarte Maracuja Oil • $48 for over a year now as my go-to under my moisturizer (as you can probably tell based on the many sizes I have in my main photo at the top of this post!) This one is very moisturizing as well and doesn’t have much of a smell. I would totally recommend it to anyone looking to try facial oils for the first time. They even offer a Travel Size Maracuja Oil • $15 so you don’t have to invest right away! Then you can wait until you have an Ulta coupon or one of the Tarte F&F sales (in Spring) to purchase the bottle! There was a super mini version of this in one of the recent Ipsy bags as well, so if you were lucky you might have even gotten it there!

Skyn Iceland Arctic Face Oil Review

Skyn Iceland Arctic Face Oil • $35 – I received this oil complimentary from Skyn Iceland and was so excited to add it to my post! I have been eyeing this one for a while since I love their entire line of skincare products. This oil is right on par with the others I’ve mentioned in this post as far as levels of moisture and quality. My only complaint is that for some reason it seems their “Arctic” line of products have a pretty distinct, odd smell to me. It isn’t necessarily a “bad smell,” but it is not particularly appealing I’ll say. But as long as I put some nice smelling moisturizer on after, all is well! 😉

Yes to Blueberries Face & Neck Oil Review

Yes to Blueberries Face & Neck Oil • $17.49 – I actually purchased this because I am a big fan of this brand and found it in the Clearance section in my Target. It smells a little bit “producty,” but not too bad. This is a great option at drugstore pricing if you’re looking to slowly ease into the facial oil world!

Have a great weekend, babes! I have some fun posts in store for you soon 😉 xo, Nicole
