Hey loves! I know a lot of you have been curious about these two monthly subscriptions and how they compare. If you’re considering starting or stopping either one, this post is for you! I’m sharing the basics of each subscription, photos comparing them from each of the past 7 months, and my thoughts on which I prefer!
Sephora Play:
For $10/month + tax you receive a cute cloth drawstring bag containing one perfume sample and five samples of prestige brand skin, hair, or makeup products (usually including one from Sephora’s own brand.) Usually the items given to all members are pretty similar with maybe one or two being different. Click here to sign up!
Ipsy:
For $10/month you receive a zippering bag containing five samples of skin, hair, or makeup products of varying brands. Usually it is a mix of affordable items plus one or two prestige brand items. When you join Ipsy, you take a quiz so that they can evaluate and pick products to send you based on your preferences. Thus, your items may vary a lot from what other members receive. You can also review the items after you receive them so that they can use your feedback to give you better items in future bags. You also earn points for doing reviews, etc and can use these to earn free extra items in future bags! Click here to sign up!

My thoughts:
I have definitely gotten items I love from both Sephora Play and Ipsy. I joined Ipsy about a year and a half ago, but only joined Sephora Play last Summer (when it launched!) I appreciate that Sephora contains high-end brands. Some of my favorite products I tried because of Sephora Play are: NARS Velvet Lip Glide, Tarte FRXXXTION Stick, Glamglow Gravity Mud Firming Treatment, Christophe Robin Hair Mask, & Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. Ipsy is nice because it is more personalized because of the quiz you fill out (and can update constantly). I like that they include makeup brushes too! I’m already familiar with most of the brands included in Sephora Play, but Ipsy introduces me to new brands which can be cool. Some of my favorite products I’ve gotten in Ipsy bags are: Royal Langnickel Crease & Smudge Brush, Temptu Champagne Shimmer Highlighter, Eva Nyc Hair Serum, It Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner, Ciaté London High Def Tip Eyeliner, Too Faced Lip Injection, & City Color Highlight Trio. All things considered, I think I favor the Sephora Play subscription overall! Click below to find out more info about each & sign up if you’d like! You can cancel either at any time 🙂
