The Bachelorette – Week 7 Recap

Hey friends and fellow Bachelor Nation fanatics! Yes, that is a “The Bachelor” pen you see above that I stole from the Ft. Lauderdale casting event this weekend…will be sharing details about that on the blog soon 😉
After a great response to last week’s Bachelorette Recap, I’ve heard you loud and clear and will continue to do these posts! Below you’ll find my thoughts about last night’s episode of The Bachelorette, plus details on a gorgeous floral maxi dress I wore to the casting this weekend that’s ONLY $14! Without further ado…

This week we got to see Rachel visit the hometowns of her top 4 guys. First up (although I’ve heard it was actually filmed last) we see Eric show Rachel around Baltimore. After proving she could hoop in heels, Rachel earned the right to meet Eric’s family at their apartment (??? I’m confused if this was where they actually live or a hotel?) Anyways, Eric’s family was just amazing. His Aunt was the sweetest and they all seemed so fun and inviting. Rachel said she immediately felt at home, and I got the same vibes. THAT is the kind of family I want to marry into! No drama there! Eric really grew on me this week actually. Something about seeing him in his comfort zone made him even more attractive. Eric handled everything so well and just seemed like the type of guy you want to “do life with” as I say.  I was totally impressed by the speech he made at dinner too. He is so well-spoken and smooth. I was definitely swooning during Eric’s hometown. At the end of the day, he told her “I love this girl, and what that means is, I really really care for you, Rachel.” Now I know I’m not delusional, that means he loves her! HELLO RACHEL! She then told the cameras, “Well, I was disappointed Eric didn’t say he loves me because he said ‘I really love this girl, and let me tell you what that means. It means I really care about you.’ and that’s not ‘I love you.'” I could’ve strangled her at that point because you know if Bryan said the same thing she would be like OMG HE LOVES ME!

Speak of the devil, next up we see Bryan’s hometown of Miami (where I live). Rachel jumped into his arms, exclaiming “Hi baby!” Bryan fed her a Will Smith line, “Bienvenido a Miami,” and then she let out the world’s loudest squeal. As my boyfriend put it, “Damn b*tches go crazy for a little Spanish.” It’s really over for every other guy at this point, she is so obviously obsessed with this guy. Anyways, Bryan takes Rachel to Domino Park and Calle Ocho, both of which I highly doubt Bryan ever hangs out at in real life. Miami girls, we know damn well he’s at LIV every weekend collecting phone numbers! 😉
When Rachel meets Bryan’s family, it is super obvious that his mother is a) insane and b) most likely somewhat racist. The face she made when Bryan told her Rachel was “the one” had me dying! Here is a still shot, if you missed it:

All I have to say after meeting Bryan’s mom is that I now understand why he is 37 and single. If I met her knowing I had to deal with that for the next say 40 years, I’d be breaking up with him immediately. But, our poor Rachel is in love so there’s nothing we can do to save her from Olga.

Up next, we go to Madison, Wisconsin to see Peter’s hometown. I was hoping to see a more loose side of Peter and not the same serious guy we are always shown. He did seem more fun and laid back, and that’s exactly what I think Rachel needed to see. Did she need to see that he had two friends also in interracial relationships, which he flaunted at that restaurant? Who knows… And, who knows why Peter asked to talk to the guys “in private” and then moved only 10 feet away to sit at the bar lol! (These are the things I notice/hate.) I really have nothing to say about Peter’s family because that part of the episode was pretty boring. The fact that he’s not necessarily ready to propose at the end of it all, but is ready to commit is very real to me. In my opinion, this is the type of guy you want, not someone like Bryan who you keep thinking is “too good to be true.”

Last, we saw Dean’s hometown visit in Aspen. They obviously wanted to build the suspense and it did not disappoint. Personally, I feel so bad for Dean and admire him even more after watching this episode. I won’t say too much about the date because I’m sure we all think the same thing, but my heart goes out to Dean for sure. He seems like an amazing man and a total catch. I get that maybe he is too young for Rachel and she didn’t want the extra family drama to go through at this point in her life, but Dean is the most manly “boy” that I’ve ever seen. I honestly think he’s more mature and admirable than many guys I know in their 30’s and 40’s. I love you Dean!! <3

I was kind of shocked that Rachel sent Dean home after all of that, but it makes me happy to know that he was on Bachelor in Paradise and apparently made some great connections there that we may see play out soon. I also would LOVEEEE for him to be the next Bachelor if those relationships didn’t work out!

What did you guys think about last night? Who do you have making Top 2? Leave me a comment below and let’s discuss! Here are the dress details:
