Hey babes! I’m here to share with you all my thoughts about last night’s episode of The Bachelorette plus I’ve added in a dress I wore this past weekend in the Hamptons that I got sooo many compliments on (and it’s under $30!) π Enjoy!
This week we saw the three remaining men meet Rachel’s family in Dallas and also saw the first half of the Fantasy Suite dates in Spain. First, Rachel brought Peter home to meet the Lindsays. I must say that the olive skirt, white tee, and heels she wore on this date was probably my favorite look I’ve seen on her yet! Let’s take a minute to discuss Rachel’s family as we are shown them. First of all, it is interesting that her father (a judge) is never seen on this show nor her hometown date on Nick’s season of The Bachelor. I wonder if it is a legal issue because of his job or perhaps he thinks this whole TV show thing is wacky and wants no part of it. He was even blurred out in the family photos on the wall in their home. There were also some other interesting characters in Rachel’s fam. Her sister, Constance, is 8 months pregnant and resembles Lil Mama to meΒ (Remember her?! “My lipgloss is poppin!”)Β She is naturally pretty and I wish they would do Rachel’s makeup like this, but more on that later! Constance’s hubby is a somewhat intimidating white dude with glasses who I referred to as Seth Rogen for the entire night. I guess you could say I’m into finding people’s doppelgangers π
Also, who the heck was that white lady who always sat next to Rachel’s boo of the night, but never spoke a word!? At my watch party we kept joking that she seemed like the family realtor just there to show the house. Anyways, I think Peter was pretty well-received and Rachel’s mom appreciated that he was honest about his intentions at the end of this process. He is being realistic, and I actually admire that. After Peter‘s hometown, we see him and Bryan casually chatting on a couch and discussing whether they’d each ask her parents’ permission to propose. Totally normal!
Next up, Eric came home to meet the family. I think his visit actually went the best and you could tell that Rachel’s cousin liked him even more than Peter. It is interesting that all of the couples present in Rachel’s family were in interracial relationships and I wonder if part of Rachel’s mom was hopeful that Rachel would go for Eric in the end. I just become more impressed with Eric each episode. I think he is genuinely so smooth and seems like a great partner.
The last day in Dallas, Bryan go to meet not only Rachel’s family but also her two “best friends.” These two girls were the ones who signed her up for The Bachelor in the first place, but if you ask me they seemed pretty gaga for Bryan themselves! I think the fact that they got to meet him and none of the other guys says a lot about who Rachel feels the strongest for (as if we didn’t already know.) Anyways, I won’t say much about Bryan‘s time with her family because we all saw how it went down.
Later in the episode, we are taken to Spain where Eric has the first date. Can I just say that when he showed up to that dinner in the black coat, Eric was lookin FINE okay! I really do think he seems so genuine and like a real sweetheart that would be so good for Rachel. I’m pretty sure she won’t wind up with him though, and in that case I say ERIC FOR BACHELOR! I know I said Dean before, but I think he may still be too young to settle down. I don’t think ABC would actually make Eric the next bachelor unfortunately, but if I was going on the next season as a contestant, I’d totally want it to be him! At their fancy dinner date in the event, Rachel wore the most hideous sparkly black jacket I could ever imagine that was probably pulled straight from a grandma going to see Wayne Newton in Vegas. The morning after their fantasy suite night, I thought it was interesting they showed Rachel in basically no makeup. That was pretty refreshing for a TV show!
The next date in Spain was for Peter where he pretty much royally f-ed up the mood by arguing with Rachel about what an engagement means. They left us on a cliffhanger about this, but I think it will probably wind up being a fine evening with lots of lovin going on. The last thing I want to bring up about this episode is something that has been bothering me all season. I think that whoever is doing Rachel’s hair and makeup is doing a pretty brutal job. It’s surprising that such a major show couldn’t find someone more talented, but maybe he or she just isn’t good at glamming up someone of a race they aren’t used to. They keep putting Rachel in a super bold lip with bright glitter eyeshadow (blues, greens, and purples) which is pretty much clown makeup and not flattering to her at all. I think she looks soooo much prettier in a more natural look like the one below:
What did you guys think of last night’s episode? Leave me a comment, let me know! xoxo, Nicole
