Hey babes! How did you guys like the Bachelorette Finale?! I have so many thoughts on it! I did enjoy the new format of Rachel watching the episode live with Chris Harrison and facing each guy in person right after his “break up” aired. I don’t really have too much to say about Eric, as I saw that coming and my opinion of him stays the same. I love Eric and think he would make a great Bachelor! It seems they ended on great terms, as you could see by how they interacted in the live episode. There were no hard feelings and I think Eric put on a brave face and is just about over whatever heartbreak he might’ve felt. I see good things in his future 😉 Now let’s move on to the Peter break up…
As you can see in the photo above, at the beginning of their break up talk, Rachel’s false eyelash strips are fully intact. I totally noticed that by the end of it they were nowhere to be seen, and it’s funny that Rachel actually mentioned this in the live show. I love that she kept it real (although I think most girls already noticed!) See below what a difference it was after she had cried them off during their emotional break up conversation:
This, my friends, is proof that if you’re going to go on TV (or simply just want to always look great,) you need to get eyelash extensions! 😉 Peter mentioned that her lash strips were on the floor of his hotel room for two days, a constant reminder of the break up. This is both hilarious and hard to believe. Why didn’t he have maid service at the hotel??
Anyways…I think the edit made it seem like their entire break up was because he wasn’t ready to propose. If that was the case, then I think Rachel made a bad decision. However, I think she mentioned at the live show that there were more issues between them than just getting a ring or not. So in that case, maybe Peter really wasn’t the one for her. To be honest, I don’t really have any issues or judgement on her final choice of guy. What I did take issue with was the way she treated Peter at the live show.
Peter was visibly emotional and uncomfortable. It seemed to me like a giant session of Rachel trying to get some sort of revenge on him and prove that she is better off without him. I did not find it very classy that she sassily told him she’s “living her best life.” That was pretty bitter of a thing to say in my opinion. Like if I ran into an ex boyfriend and said that to him, I’m clearly still stuck in my feelings for him. If it was someone I was truly over, I would act be polite and respectful. Rachel seemed to have an unpleasant attitude towards Peter, which I personally think was NOT a good look. She also went on to claim how the show process is not for him and basically insinuate that they shouldn’t pick him to be the next Bachelor. Again, that is something a bitter ex would say, not someone who is truly over Peter. The whole vibe was pretty salty and uncomfortable. I think Peter handled it well, choosing silence over calling her out.
In the end, Rachel accepted Bryan‘s proposal. She seemed happy and in love while they were talking, but when she saw the ring she was literally jumping for joy. That gave off a pretty materialistic vibe, and for the first time made me feel like maybe Bryan and Rachel are actually more similar people than I originally thought. I’m not sure what I really think of their ending. This is one couple I’m truly curious to see how long/if they last. I just can’t tell whether it is real or not. I also wonder how Bryan truly feels now, seeing the Rachel/Peter break up scene. She told Peter she loved him as they were breaking up, so I wonder if that makes Bryan feel somewhat like a default winner? I know that the breakup between Ben and Lauren was largely because she never truly got over the fact that he said he loved Jojo as well. Lauren never felt like she was truly “the one.” I’d love to hear what you guys think of Bryan and Rachel as a couple! Leave me a comment below this blog post!
Just a few things I wanted to mention:
1) I’m planning to record a podcast-type bit with my fellow Bachelor-obsessed friend talking about this season’s ending, the upcoming Bachelor in Paradise season, and just what we think of the past cast members in general. Look for that in the next week or so 😉
2) If you’re a fellow fan of Chad Johnson, he’s been on the current season of Famously Single (on VH1) and also is now on UK’s show Celebrity Big Brother. Famously Single showed a more true portrayal of his character, in my opinion. He has an on-off relationship with Dancing with the Stars pro Karina Smirnoff which is laughable (I just can’t with her!) I’ve never watched Big Brother before, but I’ve been watching the episodes of Celebrity Big Brother thru this site now that Chad’s on it and I’m pretty entertained. I’d recommend checking it out 🙂
