Hey babes! I’m back with a post sharing everything I bought in the big Ulta 20% off sale over the past month! I’m a Platinum member with Ulta, so my 20% off was applicable to prestige brands too! Here’s what I bought and my thoughts so far:
Beauty Bakerie HD Flour Setting Powder ($24) – I got this because I’m on the hunt for the very best setting powder for my wedding day makeup. Kathleen Lights raved about this one, and I’ve worn it a few times now, but I don’t really see anything any better than my current faves. It’s nice but I’m not sure it tops my others. I got the shade ‘Translucent’.
Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer ($29) – After trying many samples in Sephora to nail down my accurate shade, I bought the full size in ‘Vanilla’. I’d say it is right up there with the Tarte Shape Tape in my favorite full-coverage concealers group. I have pretty normal skin, but I hear that people with very dry skin don’t necessarily love these.
KISS Looks So Natural Lash, Shy ($4) & KISS Blowout Lash, Chignon ($5) – I got both of these at the recommendation of Michelle Money & Laura Armstrong. I don’t really have a favorite false lash, so I’ve been on a mission to try different ones and find a go-to fave! I’ll keep you guys updated about these on my Instagram.
L’Oréal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara ($10) – This is my holy grail go-to mascara. If you love length and separation, you will LOVE this one! I took advantage to get it on sale with my coupon, plus L’Oreal had buy one, get one half off, so I also picked up the…
L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner ($9) – which I heard good things about. I usually use the It Cosmetics one, but I wanted to try this as a possible drugstore dupe.
Kitsch Blush Velvet Scrunchie ($2) – I love scrunchies and thought this velvet one was so cute! It also comes in a navy blue color.
Freebies:
L’Oréal Pure Clay Charcoal Cleanser ($7 for full size) – This was a nice freebie with any L’Oreal purchase. I like most charcoal products so I bet it’ll be nice.
Becca Skin Love Glow Elixir ($48) – I actually love this! It’s a glow serum that gives the most beautiful natural glow to the skin. Would be great for no-makeup days!
Becca Velvet Blurring Primer Perfecting Base ($38 for full size) – People love Becca primers, so I will definitely give this one a good try!
Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector ($32 for full size) – I do like this to apply before foundation/concealer to help spot correct my dark spots (would also work GREAT for dark undereye circles!)
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter ($38 for full size) – This came in the classic ‘Champagne Pop’ color, and I already have it in Opal and absolutely love it!
St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Face Sheet Mask ($9) – This is one of my favorites because it combines two of my favorite things: tanning and sheet masks! As you can guess, it’s just a sheet mask that contains self tanning serum and gives you an instant glow!
Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Full-Coverage Concealer ($29) – The Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation is my longtime favorite foundation, so when they had the concealer on sale for half price (plus 20% off), I decided to give it a go! I got the shade ‘Light Warm’ and so far it is decent. It is pretty full coverage like the foundation, but I think it might be too drying for anyone with dry skin and also possibly crease on them. I’m still testing it out with different setting powders, but I think my Tarte & Too Faced concealers still beat this one out.
Ulta Bronze Glow Self Tanning Glow by Morning Gradual Tan Drops ($11) – One of my Instagram friends recommended this, but I am not really getting it so far. You’re supposed to add this to your night cream and in the morning you’ll have a subtle tan glow. I don’t see a difference, but I’m wondering if its because I use so many skincare products under the night cream. I’m going to try it one time with only cleanser and then the cream with these drops added and see if it works any better. I was hoping it might be a dupe for the Coola serum, but so far I’m not impressed at all.
Ulta Blackhead Extractor ($10) – This looked cool and had great reviews. I did use it on one whitehead I had and it worked well, but I’m not sure it’s really any better than what I can already do with my fingertips…
IT Brushes for Ulta Love Beauty Fully Love is the Foundation Brush ($30) – I also bought this because Kathleen Lights says it’s the very best foundation brush that she loves. I want to try it, but it still cost me $24 which is way more than I’ve ever paid for a brush, so I’m torn if I should try it or return! It is certainly gorgeous though!
Freebies:
Benefit BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara ($25 for full size) – I’ve been wanting to try this forever, so I’m pumped to finally get my hands on a sample!
Benefit Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel ($24 for full size) – I’ve used this before and I do like it! It comes in eight different shades and you can use it in the place of a brow pencil/powder/pomade.
Benefit 24-Hr Brow Scultping Shaping & Setting Gel ($24 for full size) – This is a clear brow gel that helps to keep brow hairs in place and tamed. It can be used alone or after colored brow products.
Benefit BROWVO! Conditioning Eyebrow Primer ($28) – This is a clear primer that has keratin and soy to make brows appear thicker, fuller, and healthier. You can then apply other colored brow products on top once this dries.
