Beauty and the Least

Updated Self Tanners Review

I did my last Self Tanners review this time last year, but I’ve done an updated version on my Instagram Story and have a few new faves to add! For my body, I love tanning mousses. I apply them with this mitt in a circular motion to avoid streaks. I always wear loose, dark clothes after I self tan and avoid getting wet or sweaty for at least 2 hours. This Jergens mousse is very affordable and has been my favorite self tanner for years. The Loving Tan 2-Hour Express is pricier, but it works very quickly. You can achieve a great tan in only 2 hours (but sometimes I’ll leave it on overnight if I want to be reeeeealllly tan!) This one you really only need to use once, whereas the Jergens is a more gradual build up.

For my face, I used to love the Tarte towelettes, but they seem to have been discontinued. So, I’ve moved on to self-tanning drops for my face! My two favorites are the Isle of Paradise drops and the Tanologist drops (both in Dark.) You mix these drops into any facial product such as oil or moisturizer, then apply it as usual. Use more or less drops depending on the color you want. As with all tanning products, I suggest starting with the lightest color if you’re a self-tanning newbie and then you can gradually use darker colors as you get comfortable. I use the darkest color available everytime now! I also love this cool St. Tropez sheet mask that tans your face too! You leave it on for however many minutes according to the directions – less time for a light tan and more time for a darker tan. It really works and gives a great color!
